Minimum Rates of wages consist of

a. basic rates of wages

b. Variable DA

Wherein any area the minimum rates of wages fixed by this notification are lower than the minimum rates of State Govt, the rates fixed by the state Govt shall in respect of these areas be deemed to be the minimum rates of wages payable.

The minimum rates of wages include the wages  for weekly day of rest.

ND GOVT Notification of MW dt 26-7-11

Minimum rates of wages per month 6422( if you divide it by 30 days then it is 214 per day)

Minimum wage per day is 247 ( if you multiply by 30 then it becomes 7410)

but you divide 6422 by 247 then it becomes 26 days wage only

ND Govt says the minimum rates of wages are inclusive of wages for weekly off day and no separate payment would be necessary on this account

The present rate notified recently w.e.f oct 2015 is monthly 9178  daily rate 353 (353* 26= 9178)

Goa Notification 28^th may 2015

(I)                (a) The minimum rates of wages as revised are all inclusive rates of wages including the wages for the weekly day of rest.

(II)             (b) The minimum daily wages payable to an employee employed in any category in respect of which monthly rate of minimum wages is revised shall be computed by dividing the minimum rates of monthly wages revised for the class of employees to which he/she belongs by 26, the quotient being stepped up to the nearest paise.

(III)            (c) The monthly rates of minimum wages payable to an employee employed in any category in respect of which daily rate of minimum wages is revised shall be computed by multiplying the daily rate by 26.
